Where to buy wedding rings in Singapore?

You've found your perfect rings on Pinterest - now it's time to get out there to find and try them on! 😍 Below are some of the commonly asked questions on buying wedding rings and also my answers to them. Hopefully this can be of help to you. 😊


Where to find wedding rings?
  • Ion Jewelry Street - whole stretch of jewelry retailers just outside Orchard MRT station (at least ten of them, side by side one another)
  • Shopping centres 
In general, the prices of rings for any jewelry brand won't differ by outlet location - so you don't have to worry if the location of the shop you're visiting seems to be a bit more atas than others. 

How much should you expect to spend?
If you're looking at buying the standard diamond ring - 1 diamond with no side embellishments, that is 0.5 carat, has a clarity of VS1-VS2, of colour grade between D-F, you can expect to spend about $4k. A set of wedding bands usually costs about $1.6k to $2k.

Which retailers do you recommend?
Do note that this I'm only recommending jewelry shops that I genuinely like and I don't earn any advertising fees from promoting them. For you to consider 🙂

Michael Trio
Classy and simple designs, reasonable in pricing. They have a lot of designs to choose from.

SK
I like their wedding bands - very classy and a set costs about $1.4k!

Forevermark
They have one of the most unique and beautiful designs, but their rings cost almost 1.5-2 times that of other retailers.

Soo Kee
Rings are elegant and classy, but cost-wise are also on the more expensive end.

Jann Paul
The prices of their custom-made rings are similar to the prices of retail rings in general. The company prides themselves on having one of the best diamond cuts in the industry (best sparkle). You can check out their website, they have quite a bit of educational information for ring buyers as well.


Other tips on rings
  • Check if the size of ring can be altered (in case you gain weight after your wedding lol)
  • You can wait for Great Singapore Sale/ in-store promotions to snag good ring deals
  • Remember to request for a ring pillow when you buy your rings. They will come in handy during solemnisation (mainly for phototaking purposes). 
  • Get your credit card ready before a ring purchase - so you can get rebates! My fiance got an Amex cashback card that gives us 1.5% rebates 😆

Considerations before applying for a new HDB flat

It has become more challenging to get your ideal flat due to land constraints  and high demand for new flats (not just from young couples!). The current rule at HDB is that everyone can only choose 1 type of flat (e.g. 4-room) at 1 location (e.g. Kallang) at a time, and go through a balloting process, where if successful, then proceed with flat purchase.
